Oh, I didn't mean to patronize, G. I like this kind of subject, but I can rarely make it look like I want it to. Tom's pretty good at it, as I recall. Eventually I'm going to learn some creative techniques to flatten or, as you say, abstract these images the way I'm seeing them.
The two-tone paint here threw me. I thought it was a bend in the wall, lending it depth. Then I couldn't make it flatten back out. ;)

Oh, no worries! I wasn't feeling patronized at all. But now I want to make the picture do what you described, with the bend in the wall.
