This was shot on a really cool day. At first we were disappointed that it was misty/foggy, since we were on vacation in Maine and going for just that one day to the historic little promontory town of Castine. But the weather played out perfectly for capturing these grand old elms, which the town managed to nurture through the great elm disease epidemic of the last century. There are about 150 huge elms there, if I remember correctly. (There's just a single elm in my photo.) Lots of great old houses too. And some frisky retirees, but that's a whole 'nother story.

Gorgeous. Just... beautiful. It looks like it could be brush strokes on paper, maybe a Japanese print. Really, very nice.
