St. Ignatius Night

St Ignatius Night 01
Shot this on the way home from the Dogpatch photowalk, and it's one of my favorites from the evening.

One Way Tom

One Way Tom

This is one of the relatively innocuous pictures I took at yesterday's Folsom Street Fair. Most of the shots I got show quite a bit more skin, both male and female. Though I have not done an exhaustive search on the subject, I would venture to guess that there is nothing quite like it anywhere else in the world. It's a celebration of sexual fetishes, leather and cos-play, B&D, S&M and decidedly LGBTQ culture. Really, it's unique and SO San Francisco.

For more (NSFW!) images from my visit yesterday, go here.

Upper Twin Lake

Just got back last night from Mrs. G's favorite place on this Earth, Twin Lakes. Here's what Upper Twin Lake looked like early one morning mid-week.

Shadow Art

Shadow Art

Is it graffiti? Is it art? Or is it just a friend's shadow against an urban wall in the early evening? Whatever it is, it looks like a likely candidate for inclusion on a Shadow Shot Sunday. Just ask these fine folks, they'll tell you. Make some of your own!

They Like Me. They Really Like Me.

I'm Not Looking at You

My obsession with abandoned couches has caught some notice over at the offices of local news blog SFist. Today they're running a feature with a whole mess of my images, plus some of my own words talking about why I do it. Check it out, kids.

Vancouver Clouds and Cranes

Vancouver Clouds and Cranes

I used all my lenses at various times on my recent vacation, which was a conscious choice on my part. (I figured that since I own them, and had them along, I might as well see what I could do with them.) I really like how the wide angle makes clouds explode in the sky.

Open and Closed

A street scene of an out of business furniture shop in Everett, Washington. Note the beautiful flowers in the streetlamp planter -- we saw those all over Washington and Canada.

Striped Beach

Striped Beach

The early morning shadow of a trestle over the beach in Ft. Bragg lets me get back into the Shadow Shot Sunday fold, along with some of these good and talented people. Why not join the fun yourself?

Shadow Shot Sunday

Shadow Dots BW
This is a mumblemumblemumble at mumblemumblemumble in San Francisco. I can't really be more specific than that, because this shot is in the Guess Where In San Francisco game and is still unfound. Sorry.

You will find actual helpful information here, and I'm sure these folks will be happy to tell you where they shot their images.

Nick's Famous

Nick's Famous

There is a whole lot of really outstanding vintage neon in Portland. This is just one of many signs I spotted near the Bagdad Theater on Hawthorne in east Portland.

Vancouver's True Colors

Vancouver's True Colors

Another one I like from the recent vacation. I'm still working my way through them at this point, and will probably post a bunch to Flickr in the next few nights.

Trestle Reflection

Trestle Reflection

So I've been back from my vacation for a week now, but my computer started giving me all kinds of trouble once I got home, and I couldn't process any of my pictures until just this weekend. It took two trips to the Apple Store, but everything appears to be back in order now. Now I've just got a couple thousand pictures to sort through and upload in the coming days... And here's a start, a reflected trestle on the beach in Ft. Bragg on an early Sunday morning.
