Lovely. Paris is definitely on my to-do list, right behind Iceland, Albania, and Malta.

Nice shots, Generik.

I haven't been to Paris since '94. That was the second trip Mary and I ever took together. If the world isn't in another Depression by then, we're heading back there for a short trip after Valentine's Day. The dollar has bounced back a bit, I got us bargain frequent flyer fares (Italy was unavailable!), and...ah, hell, life's just too short.

Thanks for posting these.

I have to apologize for turning these travel days of yours into personal travelogues, Generik. But I find these sets of photos very powerful memory stimulators. When you're away from home and language and you're young(er) and in love(r!), you make very powerful memories. Any little stimulus, let alone a beautiful visual one, gets the old blood a rockin' and a rollin'.

But I've never been to Asia (or Africa, Australia, Antarctica or S America), so I'll shut up and look when you do those.

You don't have to apologize for anything, ahab. I truly appreciate your comments, and am happy to have you share your travel memories. Seriously, I think it only adds to the posts. Please, don't feel like you're offending me or taking anything away from these pictures. You're not, not at all.

As for the places you mentioned, I've only been to Asia, none of the other places. Maybe someday in the future...

This reminds me of my visits to Prague and Florence (have yet to go to Paris). Thank you. The architecture there is just breathtaking. I could sit in cafes staring at the buildings for hours.
And Tom, if you're serious about Albania, I hear it's a great escape -- some Italian friends of mine holiday there. Yes, this answered my question "if you live in Tuscany WHERE would you possibly go for vacation?"

Malta would be cool to see. We spent two weeks in Sicily four years ago. Fascinating trip. Ancient, ancient, ancient place. The natives can be forbidding, though.

Generik, I absolutely loved some of your Asia photos.

When we were in Italy, we kept seeing commercials for vacation spots in Croatia along the Adriatic. They looked fantastic; I'd love to visit there someday. Ahab, I will be sure to post some China pictures here in the near future.
