desolation? I don't know, the image makes me smile -- seems shabbily buoyant. The composition is a bit Diebenkorn-esque (a good thing) but maybe I'm reaching. wouldn't be the first time. http://www.marin.cc.ca.us/art107/images/DiebenkornOceanPark107.jpg http://photos5.flickr.com/7166922_42c7b3fe9b.jpg http://jerryandmartha.com/yourdailyart/images/diebenkorn.jpg
The pigeons seem happy enough there, don't they? Esp that guy who scored the "E." And other than this sign, it was a nice, clean, working class neighborhood.
Guess I just like the Dylan phrase. And as you guys know from IIRTZ, I'll never let my content stand in the way of a good title.
Oh, and Donna, thanks for the elevating comparison. ;) I really like those pieces. Next time I'll try bending the composition rules a bit more like that.

Nice. I'm with Donna--it's shabby, but oddly jaunty.
Put a smile on my face as well.
