Shadow Shot Sunday: Cloud Storage

Cloud Storage

Something a little different for this week's Shadow Shot Sunday...

A stormy sunset puts San Francisco in shadow as twilight wanes, lights go on and people head home from work or out to dinner. To see some of last week's SSS entries, find your way through the shadows to this spot.

Nice! You must be on top of the old Mervyn's--I recognize that STORAGE sign.

great purples and blacks in this twilight shadow shot..

The resultant shadows seem appropriate - the shadowy gray in the air is a function of the gathering storm. The stark dichotomy of day vs. night...

So dramatic and soothing at the same time. Powerful.

Moody and wonderful!

Great shot. The building appears to be alive, with two burning yellow eyes. It ties in well with the turbulent skies - very atmospheric.

I love your 'cloud storage' title, and of course the photo. It all looks so quiet and peaceful. The calm before the storm maybe...before people start rushing about to wherever they are going :)

Cloud storage, that evokes all sorts of imaginative images...love and fear storm clouds, especially in tornado country(Midwest).

These shadows are quite eerie. Very good SSS!

Very pretty, I recognize that storage sign? Were you on the roof?

Thanks for all the nice comments.

I was on the roof of what used to be the Mervyn's at Geary and Masonic in SF. The view there is pretty spectacular, looking both east and west. This was taken during a break in the storm last Friday, though I was unfortunately a few minutes too late to get the really spectacular sunset colors on the clouds. Still, I was pretty happy with this shot.
