Red Hat
Something about that hat made me feel like I just had to capture this young woman and her boyfriend as they sat talking in Union Square Saturday. Plus, they're such a cute couple anyway that it would probably be hard to take a bad picture of them.
Mrs. G doesn't care for the pole immediately to their left (and I actually did crop out quite a bit of the planter and other stuff on that side of the picture), but I like it. Your mileage may vary.

I'm with Mrs G. Don't care for the pole.
(The punchlines practically write themselves.) ;-)
Cute couple, and I think it works despite the pole.
Huh. Now see, I don't like the picture *despite* the pole, I actually *like* the pole being there. I like the way it divides the picture up and gives it some weird verticality.
Maybe I'm just misguided.
There are a lot of verticals noising up this pic. And despite them, the couple still works, the girl is still coy and the boy is feeling like the luckiest man in the world despite all the "pole" noise... and the red softly anchors the whole chaos.
But what do I know...
Gosh darn it, you guys. You are making me love photography again.
like the colors.
Oh, to be young and in love again. Pole or no pole.
