Shadow Shot Sunday: Profile in the Sand
A misshapen fire pit at Ocean Beach in San Francisco casts a long shadow that resembles the profile of a baboon. How does that work? It must be Shadow Shot Sunday, just like so many Shadow Shot Sundays past.

What unique shadows we find once we begin looking for them! This is a great example! Great shadow shot! Love the sand!
Have a great weekend!

I actually thought it was of a person, holding things above the head, until you explained it. Very interesting
Happy SSS to you.
I see the baboon! very clever.
It looks like a head of lion.. I like the white streak in the middle..
During winter, its good to look at pictures during summer
I see the ear of the simian very well. A shape that I hadn't considered, but as we all see, shadows can be highly imaginative and open to all sorts of interpretation. Great catch!
great shot...lokks like some post global warming map of the world!
Those sneaky shadow baboons pop up in the oddest places! This is fun! I like Catherine's interpretation of it being a post global warming map of the world!
Oh, I like the strange shape against the sand. Nice!
That's a great shadow shot.
