Shadow Shot Sunday: Alamo Square

Alamo Square Shadows

Late afternoon sun sends shadows looming far across Alamo Square in San Francisco as a band of local photographers walk through it. Must be Shadow Shot Sunday! To see some of last week's SSS entries, go here.

We seem to be placed in a great darkness if we don't look beyond the shadow. When we do, we realize that the darkness is only a byproduct of a strong and brilliant sun. What a stunning capture!

I'm glad you mentioned that the people were a band of local photographers - they look as though they're heading for the distant hill with real purpose on their minds!

Such nice tall shadows. Even the merry band of photographers have long shadows trailing behind them!

Nice shot! I like the way the trees envelope the action. It's like looking into one of those old-fashioned picture viewers.
