Travel Thursday: Death Valley
I took this shot using a Yashica double-lens reflex loaded with 120 film about seven years ago. I just got the film developed last week, and my friend Bill was good enough to scan a few of the negatives in. This is Zabriskie Point, looking north-ish.
Maybe I'll start shooting more film again...

Cool shot. Made for B/W.
I just saw the Ansel Adams shot of this site in a terrific show of more than 100 of his works at the Tucson Museum of Art last month. There was also a self-portrait of Adams in which he shoots himself and tripod in silhouette. It reminded me very much of your similar shot, G. There was one that reminded me of one of Tom's shots too, but I can't remember what it was. As it happens, the previous day I'd shot an Adamsish scene (but in color) in the mountains west of Phoenix. I'll post it next week.
As I said before, this is a great shot--really gorgeous.
My Zabriskie Point black-and-white shot is here.
I'm honored to even be mentioned in the same paragraph as Ansel Adams. Looking forward to your post, ahab.
Tom, I had forgotten about your great shot of this same area, thanks for the link. Now I think I need to go back there sometime soon.
Impressive all around.
love both Zabriskies. stunning.
