Photowalk the Second
Last Saturday was the second photowalk organized by the good folks at CALIBER. We met up at the Montgomery Street BART/MUNI station, and with the inimitable Frank Chu as our guide and beacon, walked up to North Beach and back down through Chinatown. Just before the meet-up, I splurged and bought myself a new 50mm 1.4 lens, and shot exclusively with that all day. It was, as the kids say, hella fun.
A few more shots from that day below the fold.

I love the hornplayers shot, among others. And the whole photoshoot idea.
Very exciting buy, your f/1.4. Best of luck with it.
Thanks for sharing. Very nice. Enjoy your new toy.
Great stuff. Love the one with Frank Chu and the mural.
I'm partial to the horn players, too. It's timeless, in a way. Take away that SUV, and it could be 50 years ago.
For those who don't know, those guys are part of the Green Street Mortuary Band, a fixture of North Beach/Chinatown life. I used to see them play when I would walk around that neighborhood.
Yeah, they were on their way to play right then. A few minutes later, we saw the whole funeral procession coming down Stockton Street with the band leading the way.
Oh, and thanks for all the kind words, folks!
cool series -- the color, angle and composition on the shirts on clotheline, really grabs me.
Frank is getting old, guess that makes two of us.
