Boulangerie

Boulangerie
Near the Place de la Bastille

Sorry, I've got nothing, so I'll work the archives. I busted my point-and-shoot taking personal stuff recently and I just got a teeny tiny replacement. And I have an idea worth picking up the DSLR for one of these days. So I'll be back. But, damn, do I need to go on a trip.

Nothing wrong with mining the archives if you can keep bringing pictures like this one. Love the matching red scarf and red awning offsetting the blue trim. Perfectly composed, imho.

Thanks, G. I still have my best three or four Paris shots up my sleeve. I can't let go of them yet, though I'm not sure what I'm waiting for.

It's such a beautiful city. And I had really good photo luck on that trip. Just thinking about it is inspiring me.

If you could smell inside that shop you'd drive straight to the airport, Donna.

Mon dieu!

Wow, great photo. If it's the place on the corner of/near Rue des Blancs Manteaux, and if my memory is kinda sorta accurate, then I lived about 3 or 4 blocks away from there in 1987 in "Le Marais,", west of the Bastille, and last visited the 'hood in 2004.

Many days in 87, since I was a poor grad student, I subsisted on a half baguette and a bit of cheese from the cheese store about 2 streets away. Damn fine bread it was.

Thanks for the memories, even I'm off base. You captured the red and the blue of the building, plus the feel of the light on the street. That's a gift.
