Not sure why this shot of an intersection in Desert Hot Springs appeals to me so much -- and it hasn't gotten much love or attention on Flickr -- but it really does. I just like this a lot.

I like this a lot too. Maybe the jaunty colors of the real estate office contrasting with the two deserts (mountain and asphalt), or something like that...anyway, I like it.
The lavish colors and the lavish name of the realty office offer a striking contrast with the desert(s). Plus it looks just like a homey little pueblo. They probably make a fortune in that little joint.
