The Cover Up

The Cover Up

A woman covering up graffiti casts a long shadow on the wall -- which reminds me, hey, long time no Shadow Shot Sunday! I wonder if any of these fine participants missed me.

For a moment, she appeared to be tagging the wall - the explanation shows someone who cares about the neighborhood...

Her shadowy arm looks like a paint brush in motion. Nicely captured!

Outstanding! And I don't know about the other folks, but I've been missing your shadow shots (says the guy whose SSS output has been sporadic of late...).

Cool shot, I'd like to see her finished work.

How do we know she's not putting *on* the graffiti?

I too thought she might be adding to the graffiti. But as she's not wearing a hoodie she can't be! Love the sinewy shadow.

Well hello there! We did miss you and it's great to see you back!

What a fine shadow! It must be such a tedious task to be painting over grafitti. As it doesn't appear to be very interesting grafitti it's best to cover it up. Some grafitti is well worth leaving displayed. Of course not all people appreciate it though. Have a great week!

Thanks so much for the nice comments, folks. Just to clear up any lingering mystery, she was definitely covering up the red graffiti with green paint. I'm guessing she's done that more than once in the past, and will probably do it again in the near future.

Happy to be back in the shadows again!

IF SHADOWS COULD TALK

If shadows could talk,
Just what would they say?
If you listen close,
You’ll hear them, you may.
Shadows do chatter
And gossip and talk
In the store windows,
Along the sidewalk,
Over the mountains,
On prairie and plain,
Begging for sunshine
And not days of rain;
Emboldened by light,
The stark shadows say:
“We’re out for a lark,
Please join us at play!”
