Gorgeous!

Thanks!

Weird to post that and think about snow and bitter cold back home when it will be brilliantly sunny and pushing 70 degrees here in a few hours. It's like the Land of the Lotus Eaters, I could forget my homeland entirely. Coming back to reality tomorrow though.

Nice!

Are you in Arizona right now?

Awesome shot.

That's beautiful.

Looking forward to your shots of the desert in winter!

Thanks, everybody, esp since Mary was dissing this shot.

Tom, yes, we spent a few days SE of Tucson chasing birds up and down the magnificent Sulphur Springs Valley and then a few days in Tucson proper.

Happened to drive by the shooting site earlier today, sad to say. It's at a major cross street on a major artery and catty-corner to a superb birding park I like to visit. AZ's crazy but Tucson is pretty sane and tame. And liberal. That scene never should have happened here.

And, yes, I am officially one of those jagoffs who travel to look at (and photograph!) birds. I never would have expected that of myself.

But maybe you are thinking of the AZ boycott. Probably we would not have come here but for some personal business I had. We are thinking twice about any further involvement with the state at this time.

With all due respect, Mary is wrong. This is a very nice shot, well thought out and composed.

Also, I would not fault you for traveling to Arizona, even given the boycott and all that.

I look forward to the bird pics and you're not the only person I know who travels to see birds. I've done the same.

Thanks, G (and Donna). But AZ's current regime does make you reconsider whether you might like to live down there part of the year. Of course nobody needs an official boycott to inspire those thoughts. And I think a strong case can be made that this regressive regime is best dealt with by continued liberalization of the state. But I did not buy an RV while I was down there.
