for some reason the bleak quality of the shot puts that old show Twin Peaks in my head. That and it looks like it could be an illustration for a Raymond Carver story.

Probably more pungent than poignant, yes. This was shot at low tide, so I'm sure that thing is underwater when the tide is high.

Donna, I got a Twin Peaks vibe from that as well! I could almost hear Jack Nance saying, "...wrapped in plastic." And Raymond Carver is one of my very favorite writers. When I used to write short stories, I wanted to be Raymond Carver.

My goal as a painter is to convey emotion and form with as few brush strokes as Carver used words -- if that makes any sense.
