Last Sunday was the annual running of the
Bay to Breakers, a 7.5 mile footrace across San Francisco from the bay to the ocean. Over the years, it's become known for people running in costume, people running naked, home-made floats and centipedes (runners strung together in some fashion), and is something of a huge, moving street party fueled by lots of alcohol. I took a number of pictures there last week and thought that these two would be fitting for
Shadow Shot Sunday.
Some of the entries from last week's one year anniversary of SSS can be found
here.

What great shadow shots! And colorful and fun, too!
Happy SSS! and have a great weekend!
Nice ass on the greenie.
What a FUN SSS..
cheers!
shadow.....what shadow.....i'm with donna....can't get past greenie!
That looks like a fun event! Is that you in the big pink fuzzy costume? C'mon, it is isn't it? How clever to be running around like that in costume and managing to take a pic of your shadow! :D
And that's the sort of thing that makes me love San Francisco!
Great pictures.
Amusing subjects. Great shadows.
Ha ha! the pink gorilla is fab. Hope he won the race :)
Ok, now if I was a tourist, I would think there were very strange people living in your neighbourhood. Your neighbours make very interesting subjects for SSS :)
I can't even imagine running a race in costume....aughhh! It's sweaty enough with shorts & tank!
Thanks for some very interesting shadows!!
What great shadows!! I'm wondering how you even noticed their shadows with such personality shining.
Love them! Especially the gorilla. I am so admiring of people who can not only run, but do it in a boiling hot costume!
Thanks all, and to those of you who enjoyed the green guy's backside, you're welcome!
That's definitely not me in the pink gorilla outfit (I only run if someone is chasing me), but he was one fast runner. He finished the race in 44 minutes, which would be excellent time even if he wasn't in costume and it wasn't 90° that day.
Cool shots. Looks like a blast at that "race."
