Round the Bend

Round the Bend

Saw this while sofa hunting in the East Bay with a couple of my Flickr friends last Sunday. We were very successful!

Nice. I'm a sucker for this sort of stuff.

Nice find.

The visual power of lines is truly amazing, isn't it?

Indeed.

YES. The way they curve in on each other, the way they stretch to a vanishing point, the way the vertical and horizontal intersect... I am absolutely a sucker for that. I look at a shot like this, and I start moving my hands in vertical and horizontal motions, just trying to figure out how these lines all work with one another. OCD meets TMI.

The eye and the mind seek a gestalt.

Very cool.

Or is it closure leading to Gestalt rather than Gestalt that the mind seeks in a line? Same diff, I guess.
