Cattle is a plural noun.

Well, nobody ever accused me of knowing anything about livestock. So what is the singular in this case?

OMG, I've stayed at that hotel more than once. We need to get together and compare notes.

You might want to call it a cow skull to satisfy the purists out there.

Generik, I thought about you when I was in Bodie and Bridgeport. (Neither of which was in my original plan--I was going to do a backpacking trip, but the weather forecast was really crappy, so I did an Eastern Sierra road trip instead.) Hadn't been to Bodie since 1979, and had never been to Bridgeport before. Good times.

Isn't a cow female? Or is it non-gender-specific? As I said, I don't know a lot about livestock.

Sorry about being a "purist" (not really) but I do like accuracy. Cow: "an animal of either sex and any age belonging to any breed of domestic cattle. Genus: Bos."

Got it.

Anyway, I think it's a cool picture, even if nobody else does.

Georgia O'Keefe by way of Magritte. Love the moon in the background.

*I* think it's a way cool picture. Having been there many times and having taken numerous shots of the artwork there, I'm a little jealous that I don't have a shot to match up to this one.
