Canadian Crossing
Aboard the Black Ball ferry going from Victoria, B.C. to Port Angeles, Washington, and the passengers are in deep shadow, framed by the windows showing sunshine through the heavy clouds. It's a Shadow Shot Sunday voyage, and despite the rough seas, I wouldn't mind being there again right now.

What a terrific capture! I love it! Wonderful B&W! And welcome to my world! I go to Port Townsend whenever I can, one of my favorite places here in Washington! Hope you have a great weekend!
Sylvia
Thanks!
That is such a beautiful part of the state, you must love living there! We didn't get nearly enough time to explore, as we had to get down the coast and back to SF in about four days. We're hoping to get back up that way fairly soon, maybe next year around this time.
Given the water border with Canada, this seems the preferred way to travel. The B&W and massive shadows add anonymity to the travelers. The passengers may be regular and j=have seen the water constantly. So perhaps they are thinking ahead to their destination...
woooo i can almost smell the sea :D
lovely shot. Great B&W.
Black Ball ferry? That's a funny name! Cool photo! I wish I was there right now too! Have a great week :)
great framing in this shot...
I wouldn't mind being on any voyage right now, however, for the winter I'm stuck in the river valley in Iowa, preparing for the long voyage ahead...brrrrr...!
Looks like a scene from a Bergman film. Beautiful!
Nice shot.
Mary and I were going to take this ferry and then another from Victoria to Vancouver if we'd gone to Seattle in September. Maybe next year.
Congrats on your Giants, btw. Well done. Now kick Texas's ass.
The ferry from Victoria to Vancouver (or the other way around) is spectacular, a much prettier ride than the one from Victoria to Port Angeles. I hope you get to take that trip, ahab, and thanks for the good baseball wishes. If I have anything to say about it, the Giants will win it all this year.
Also, thanks to all for the comments and compliments! I really do appreciate all the views and kind words.
