Shadow Shot Sunday: Ghost Town Shadow

Shadow House

One more from the Bodie collection that I thought might be good for Shadow Shot Sunday. You can see some of last week's SSS entries here.

What an awesome shot! I just popped over to look at your other photo taken at Bodie. I can see why you said that location is a photographers paradise! Those sorts of images never spring to mind when I think of California! Hey and I bet there are no annoying security folk at Bodie saying you can't take photos! ;) I really liked your comment you left me about the security/photo taking situation!

What a great shadow shot! Now, we're just waiting for a cowboy to come walking around the corner!

In the Sierra
shadows creep across Bodie’s
decrepit houses.

As with all old shack photos, I always wonder of the colorful past they must've held and how easily I could live in it in such a state...my family thinks I've gone 'round the bend, but I'm just romantic foul!

Beautiful shot!

This is wonderful...full of atmosphere! I wonder what the place was like when it was lived in. It looks hot and dry!

I think is is a magnificent shot. Sort of a meeting of different eras... the old peeling house might be from the old west but more likely a bit later... but the shadow of the utility pole... no electricity back in the wild, wild west.

Thanks, all! MMT, love the haiku. srp, Bodie still had people living in town until sometime in the 1930s, and so did have electricity and such. All told, it probably existed as a real working town for about 70 years, spanning the horse and buggy age to the era of cars and telephones.
