William's comment reminds me to point out that this was shot with my...trusty 50mm (f/1.8) lens! So was the "Mountain Spring" shot and several others I got that day. I put the lens on and stayed with it all day, resisting repeated temptations to go zoom or macro. Great little prime.; February 24, 2012 at 3:24 AM

And I know I've said this before, but...I'm convinced 50mm/1.8 has a kind of visceral appeal to the viewer, because it most closely mimics the way we see.; February 24, 2012 at 8:25 AM
