This isn't just my taste in photo subjects, G. You should see the crap "antiques" I drag home and incorporate into my house. In fact I'd take this red door if it wasn't nailed down.
William's comment reminds me to point out that this was shot with my...trusty 50mm (f/1.8) lens! So was the "Mountain Spring" shot and several others I got that day. I put the lens on and stayed with it all day, resisting repeated temptations to go zoom or macro. Great little prime.
Also, I knew this was an ahab shot before I even saw the name.
What Erik said.
And I know I've said this before, but...I'm convinced 50mm/1.8 has a kind of visceral appeal to the viewer, because it most closely mimics the way we see.

Great color & texture.
Agree with Tom. Also, I knew this was an ahab shot before I even saw the name.
Thanks, guys.

Man, I hear you. I'd build a home out of wood like that and live in it and be happy as hell for the rest of my life.
...a red door over yonder, that's where my baby stays.
Nice work. REALLY nice.
Thanks, William.

Cool stuff. Love that weathered patina.
