Scenes from a World Series
As many of you know (but perhaps not Tom, just because he's not tuned into those sports things), the Giants are in the World Series this year, and I am SOOOO loving life! Here are a few images from Games 1 and 2 for those of you who are interested in that sort of thing. Above, just before the game on Thursday, the sun peeked out of the clouds and shone brightly on the ballpark, which I took as a good omen for the hometown team. More below the fold...

Canadian Crossing
Aboard the Black Ball ferry going from Victoria, B.C. to Port Angeles, Washington, and the passengers are in deep shadow, framed by the windows showing sunshine through the heavy clouds. It's a Shadow Shot Sunday voyage, and despite the rough seas, I wouldn't mind being there again right now.

Morning Sky
Missed a spectacular deep-red sunrise that morning because I was on the bus at the time, but this made up for it (partly).

Open Door Policy
A couple of no longer needed chairs sit in leafy shadows on a San Francisco sidewalk, just waiting for their star turn in this week's Shadow Shot Sunday extravaganza. Hey, what did other people bring to the party last week?

Rally Rags
The Giants win the West! The Giants win the West!
After Friday and Saturday's losses, some fans were afraid that the orange Rally Rags would turn into Crying Towels come Sunday, but the team pulled out a 3-0 gem and defeated the Padres to win the NL West. Now it's on to the playoffs!

Seven Star Astoria
An old hotel sign in Vancouver provides a likely entry for this week's Shadow Shot Sunday pool. See if these people don't agree.
And for a color version (from a different angle) of this sign, go here.
