Incredible Hulk

Incredible Hulk 06
Post-thunderstorm cloud shadows on the Incredible Hulk in Little Slide Canyon, Hoover Wilderness.

Incredible Hulk 04
Here are some climbers descending the face of the Hulk (which I guess technically makes them descenders rather than climbers). Note the orange-stained rock at lower left.

Incredible Hulk 05
That rock is visible in this shot as an orange rectangle next to the long vertical shadows. A little to the right you can see a speck that is the three climbers.

Shadow Shot Sunday: is it any wonder everybody's doing it?

This rock is so craggy and rough - hence its massive charm. The clouds add a dark and menacing shadow, although post-storm, all complemented by the fresh blue sky above, Nicely captured!

Love wandering in the high country...nice and safe on the ground with my voice and my bear bells happily singing away...no climbing for me, are they nuts!!!

Beautiful shots, makes me homesick for my old home in Evergreen, Colorado!

oh, my -- capturing the "descendants" really emphasizes the size of the rock. wow. terrific shadows, too.

Thanks, y'all!

@Sweet Repose: our parents took us hiking in the Colorad Rockies (RMNP, among other places) when we were kids, and those are some of the happiest memories of my childhood. And yeah, I'm with you and Frayedattheedges: no climbing for me!

That must be some feeling to be scaling that rock. Cool way to show off this beautiful sight with close-up and panorama shots.

The Incredible Hulk rock must be huge! Those climbers look so very tiny. It's funny to me what some people do for fun. Climbing big rocks isn't my idea of fun! Crazy folk! Have a great week :)

I love this incredible hulk! Wow-great shots! Love the pockets of what looks like iron oxide too. I find it fascinating that the soil and rocks of the earth have so many colors.

Awesome pictures. The Hulk must be one BIG rock. The climbers,(much braver than I am), look so small.

I love the pictures. The shadows are great and the Hulk with its climbers makes a great shot.

Thanks for sharing!!
