Above Yosemite
Here's another shot from my flight back from Boston last month. We flew over Yosemite around the latitude of the Tioga Pass Road, and the folks on the left side of the plane probably got a great view of the Valley while we on the right...didn't. But somewhere near the western boundary of the park, the pilot turned sharply south and then turned north again, so we on the right side got this view straight up the Valley (and Tenaya Canyon). That's El Capitan in the foreground, and of course Half Dome near the center.

Fantastic capture, Tom! Yosemite is one of my favorite places -- in it or above it! Thanks for sharing the beauty! Have a great weekend!

Thanks, Sylvia! One of my favorite places too--there's nothing else quite like it anywhere else.
You have a great weekend too! I'll miss SSS this week--leaving at the cracko Saturday morning for a wildflower-chasing weekend road trip...
I love getting to see that area from the air. Our Favorite Camping Spot is just a stone's throw from that vantage point.
Just a stone's throw (drop?) from the plane? ;-)
No, seriously...where is your favorite camping spot?
Twin Lakes!
