I went to Alcatraz recently with my work group, and of course I brought my camera. Here's one of the shots I liked; this is looking north to Angel Island.

Coaltown

Tom and G will recognize this shot as a rerun from the IIRTZ blog. It features the Susquehanna River, located about 20 miles from my home, which very nearly flooded its banks last week in a repeat of the devastating Hurricane Agnes flood of June 1972. The river's crest last week was nearly two feet higher than in 1972 but the raised dikes held. Utter regional devastation narrowly averted.
