On a nature walk I took recently on the topic of tracking animals in winter, we came across the scattered feathers of one of these guys. Got by a hawk. It can't be easy to be so bright and plump and delicious-looking and yet sooo slooow on the wing. No wonder they're so jumpy and paranoid.; February 3, 2011 at 4:09 AM
