Ice Storm

Ice Storm Near Catoctin Furnace, Maryland (just a short drive south of Gettysburg--about halfway to the Potomac). Nestled in the high wilderness up behind this farm lies Camp David, an estate currently at the use of the Barack Obama family.

Lovely...reminds me of Wyeth.

Thanks! This is maybe 75 miles WSW of the Wyeths' stronghold in the Brandywine Valley, PA. I love all the countryside down that way. Horse country. Small towns and villages. An old way of life. Philly, DC and Baltimore are creeping up on them, though.

In the five years since I took this shot, someone hideously renovated that beautiful old barn. Such a tragedy. There couldn't be a storm romantic enough to redeem it now.

Such a shame about the renovation! So nice that you were able to capture this scene before that happened. This is just gorgeous.

Thanks, G.

As I know we've commented here on the blog before, nothing stays the same. Take nothing for granted, in photography and in life!
