They are some healthy crows. There were three of them but one didn't fit into the frame. The next shot I took got all three in one extremely dramatic pose, but I'd lost focus. It's still pretty neat-looking. Like a classical painting or something. This is a common scene in spring and fall especially, during periods of migration. But this chase occurred right smack in front of me. I got nice closeups of just the hawk before the crows moved on him. He's actually of pretty healthy size himself. The crows have to walk a fine line in attacking an attacker like him. Lots of advanced tactics are at play on both sides.

Yeah, especially nice larger. Those crows don't look much smaller than the hawk.
