Autumn on the Vltava
Late afternoon from one of the bridges across the Vltava River.
Seriously, the Czech Republic needs to buy a damn vowel. Maybe they should contact the Netherlands; they could certainly spare a few.

Pretty shot.
How was Prague compared to when you were there last (which I think you said was in the 90's)?
Gorgeous.
We were there in 2005(on my last sabbatical), and about the only difference between then and now was the weather. Last time, it was early summer, and warm (though we did get a bit of rain). This time, it was very cold -- down in the 20s and 30s most of the time we were there. Had there been any precipitation, we surely would have had snow.
Loved the fall colors, though -- more so in Budapest than Prague, but both places were nice.
Great commentary. Even better photograph.
I somehow misremembered when you were there. Mixed it up with my only trip there, in '95 or '96, when the tourist trade was still pretty clunky and Eastern European. Russian, not English, was the second language. That actually made it better, in a way. More exotic. Guess I'll have to return myself someday to find out if English has ruined the place. ;)
How about Budapest, is that much more Eastern-feeling than Czech?
I got a pretty similar feeling in Budapest as I did in Prague -- everyone speaks English, and there are Americans everywhere. The biggest difference I noticed was that, because much of Budapest was damaged in WWII, there was a lot more Soviet-era architecture there than Prague. Still a beautiful city, though.
Pretty like a painting.
