Thanks, everyone! I only got a handful of good shots from that trip and this is one of them.
E, yes, and I think the coil and color and movement of the bike/biker make a nice counterpoint. Plus I like the way he's exiting the scene. It gives it a dynamic jolt.
Donna, yes, that's a great feature of so much of Paris, those cool facades with hot colors (and people!) on top. Such a dramatic backdrop for life.
My first reaction to the shot was Donna's take; then I came around (independently) to E's and to accentuate it made a B/W version, but of course that loses the color effect Donna mentions. Both versions are improved, though, by cropping the street signs and that distracting blob along the left frame. I wish I'd thought of that before posting.
What the hell, I'll post the B/W version under the fold for comparison. Dunno if anybody will see it at this point though.

Ah, Paris... *sigh*
Nice!
I like the mix of vertical and horizontal stripes.
I'm digging the island of color within the muted neutral tones.

I like the crop better in the b&w version, and that's a good shot as is, but it's a shame to lose the great color of that fruit. That really pops.
