I haven't been to the city on the Bay, so cannot say for sure what it is. I am guessing this is a row of support arched holding up the sides and wall of a portal - BART? Only a guess, but the effect and artistry is beautiful at any rate...

My first trip to San Fran, just off the airplane from a hot, humid Iowa mornin' in shorts and short sleeves...did alotta mumble, mumble, as I froze my butte off...went to the beach, grabbed my backpack and put on ALL of my clothes...didn't do that again!!!
