I think if you look at the larger version the bird pops out better. But Loons are colored and lined to blend in with water and waves, and that's something I think the high-contrast water (and this static shot of it) reveals. I like the way the Loon's wake ruffles the lines. It gives the composition an interesting dynamism.
WOW, great capture of the water -- I mean the bird's cool too but the water is spectacular! Great paterning.
