Shadow Shot Sunday

Orthocarpus Cuspidatus 03
From my road trip up to the northern Sierra last weekend, this is Pink Owl's Clover (Orthocarpus cuspidatus) along the Sagehen Creek trail, Tahoe National Forest.

Read the Shadow Shot Sunday rules, and then participate. If, y'know, you want to.

Such beauty in pink. The feeling is as if it has been frosted with sugar or ice crystals. Sweet!

What an exquisite capture, Tom! Love the color and Ralph is right, it does look frosted with sugar or ice crystals. Really superb! Have a great weekend!

I've always wondered where they get such interesting names, like lambs quarters and partridge pea...beautiful shot as always, must've been a fun trip!

Thanks, y'all! Yes, it definitely has a confectionary look to it...

And the only reason I know what this is, is that over the last couple years I've been making an effort to identify native California wildflowers. I've been posting one every Wednesday over at my other blog.
