Big Red Balls

One more holiday-themed shot while it's still (more or less timely). You've seen these here before, but they seem to be more sparkly this year. I'm not sure I approve of the change.

    I am not sure if red balls are better than blue balls. One thing I do know though, is that this is a nice photograph.

    I've been trying to put my finger on what it is I don't like about the sparkle versus the shiny red balls of years past, and I think I have it figured out now: The shiny ones were great for reflections of the surrounding buildings; these are just sparkly. I prefer the reflections.
