Then my two buddies, too lazy to clean their fish when we get back to camp that day, leave two big pickerel hanging from the dock on a stringer overnight. I'm down there all alone at 5am drinking my coffee (beginning my hours-long vigil for the others to get the hell up), when something starts tugging at the dock. It's a huge snapping turtle, as big around as the oval I can make with my arms. I watch him tug and munch for a while, then all of a sudden he notices me and, bang, disappears.
gorgeous.
