It's spring (in the Northern hemisphere, anyway) and the wildflowers are blooming, so I thought I'd do a seasonal Shadow Shot Sunday. This is a California poppy (Eschscholzia californica) in Morgan Territory Regional Park.

ReplyDeleteI adore this shot. I totally miss California poppies. They're so rich and happy. I'm from Los Angeles, but now live in Houston, Texas. Now I get to warm up to Texas Bluebonnets. I love them, but, c'mon, they're no comparison to those gorgeous bright orange poppies, right?

ReplyDeleteSimply stunning - very Georgia O'Keefe. Here in Queensland we really only have two seasons - summer and, well, mild summer. It does get cold by our standards, but we miss those stunning blossoms of spring and magnificent autumn leaves.
